Description:
The name “Valaam” is translated from Finnish as “high land”. There are places on earth as if intended to remind us of the primordial harmony of being. Often they are separated from the outside world by a natural border. In Russia, one of these places was and remains Valaam - an archipelago in Lake Ladoga with the Transfiguration Monastery located on it.
